Pouna Saiprasert is an active and respected voice in Fresno’s Asian farming community, regularly connecting with Lao, Hmong, Mien, and Vietnamese growers through informal networks, seed swaps, and shared equipment arrangements. She participates in local farmer gatherings where she advocates for land access, wholesale infrastructure, and cultural crop recognition. Pouna also mentors younger Lao American farmers starting on small plots, offering practical advice on irrigation, harvest timing, and navigating California’s wholesale produce system. Her involvement isn’t ceremonial—she shows up to help neighbors trellis long beans, trades bitter melon seeds at community picnics, and represents TK Farm at regional Asian agricultural events. Through these actions, Pouna strengthens Fresno’s specialty crop ecosystem while keeping Lao farming traditions alive and collaborative.
